Sanaa Lathan, Terrence Howard, Blair Underwood and Harry Lennix to Star in Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ set in the Caribbean

William Shakespeare’s most horrific and bloody tragedy, Macbeth, is getting an update via a new all-African American feature film adaptation.

The film, to be titled Macbett, is written and directed by Aleta Chappelle, who is the first African American woman to direct a film version of a Shakespeare play. The film is set to start pre-production in Sept. 2013 on location in Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

Okay so I mentioned my Robin Hood AU a while back (I think) but here’s a more in-depth explanation of it.

Robin Hood is a lady! She’s pretty much the same as regular Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to give to the poor, great at archery and being awesome, etc. She’s made out to be a dude most of the time because a) she’s really tall and dresses like a man and b) the people she robs don’t want to admit that a lady beat them.

She’s got Little John and Will Scarlet and the rest of her men to help her out against the Sheriff, who she basically just dicks around with to make him mad. 

Later on she and her men kidnap Maid Marian and ask for a ransom from evil King John and the sheriff. Marian is basically pissed as hell and Robin is all “calm your glorious tits, sweetcheeks” and there’s lots of glaring and eye-fucking

later on they fall in love and stuff

the moral of the story is lesbians

I liked this idea. Except I decided bouncy audio!Eight and Donna would become friends rather quickly and they’d go to the Planet of Socks and get matching pairs and have adventures and be adorable.

Love this idea, mostly because fresh herbs are crazy expensive and I never use them all up before they go bad: chop up your herbs and stick them into an ice cube tray, then cover with olive oil and freeze.

Toss a cube or two into your pan whenever you’re in need, and presto: fresh herbs, all winter long.
