Anonymous asked: Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion on the Civil War? I live in the Deep South and while we are taught that the Civil War was rooted in slavery, I’ve never regarded it as a “racist” war. Do most people see it as such?

I seriously wonder what disconnect you are operating under that you would type a sentence that acknowledges that the Civil War was “rooted in slavery,” but then immediately follow that up with a clause saying you don’t see how that’s racist.
